I loved the structured nature of the program. It took me step by step from start to finish in a clear, progressive way. Not only did it get me out of pain, but it also made me stronger than ever before.

FAQs
What is Surfer’s Elbow?
Surfer’s Elbow is irritation or overload of the tendons around your elbow, often caused by the repetitive paddling and gripping needed for surfing. It’s similar to “tennis elbow” but happens in surfers because of the unique demands of the sport.
How do I know if I have Surfer’s Elbow?
Common signs include pain on the inside or outside of your elbow, stiffness when gripping your board, or aching after long surf sessions. If pain lingers for more than a couple of weeks or is stopping you from surfing confidently, it’s worth getting checked.
Can I keep surfing if I have elbow pain?
In many cases, yes. The goal isn’t to stop surfing completely but to adjust your load and strengthen your elbow so you can keep doing what you love. I’ll guide you on what’s safe, what to avoid, and how to modify your paddling and training.
How long does recovery take?
Everyone is different, but with the right plan most surfers see steady improvement within 6–12 weeks. Recovery depends on how long you’ve had the problem, how consistent you are with rehab, and how much you load your elbow in the meantime.
What’s included in your rehab program?
My 12-week Surfer’s Elbow program combines progressive strength work, mobility drills, and surf-specific exercises. You’ll also get a full video library with over 100 exercises, education, technique advice, and email support to help you stay on track in and out of the water.
Can I claim a Medicare rebate or get money back from private health?
Yes, in some cases. If your GP refers you under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan, you may be eligible for up to 5 Medicare-rebated physiotherapy sessions per year. If you have private health insurance with extras cover, you can usually claim a rebate for physiotherapy consultations as well. The exact amount depends on your fund and level of cover. I can process both Medicare and private health rebates immediately at your appointment, so you only pay the gap.
What if I don’t improve after the appointment and following the program?
There are always options we can explore. If your elbow isn’t improving as expected, I can work closely with your GP and other specialists to look at additional investigations or adjunct treatments. My goal is to make sure you get the right care and the best chance of getting back to pain-free surfing.
Do you treat other areas of the body?
My focus is on being the best physio I can be when it comes to elbows—elbows are my passion! That said, the elbow is only one joint in a whole system, and pain is rarely an isolated issue. I’ll always assess and consider other areas, like the shoulder, wrist, and upper back, if they’re influencing your elbow or holding back your recovery.
All your appointments are via telehealth. Don’t you need to touch, feel, and see my elbow in person?
Actually, emerging evidence shows that telehealth can be just as effective as in-person care for achieving lasting results—and it’s often more convenient for you. I’m highly skilled at observing movement and guiding you through the exact tests and exercises I need to assess your elbow. This way, you get a thorough assessment and a tailored rehab plan, all from the comfort of your own home.
